APOSTLE ALPHONSE OKOSSI delivers the Main Word Sunday Dec. 23, 2018 service at Harlem's Calvary Living Faith Church. Apostle Okossi continued to expand on his previous Sunday sermon Theme of "DISTRACTION". The Apostle began his sermon by reminding the congregation that JESUS IS THE WORD, and the Enemy's plan is to distract us from the WORD, and the TRUTH, which is the WORD. The Apostle then referenced Scripture Matthew 1:21 - "And she will bring forth a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." Apostle Okossi pointed out that there is an INNER MAN and an OUTER MAN, and referenced Scripture Mark 7: 18-23 : "And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 19.Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? 20.And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21.For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22.Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23. All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." Apostle Okossi explained that the main difference between the outer man and inner man, is that the Inner Man bears fruit. The Apostle continued by preaching that the Bible is like a mirror, when one looks at a physical mirror he or she must change their appearance if something is not right. By the same token, a person must change their character when the look at their spiritual mirror, the Bible, when it does not agree with and reflect the WORD of God. He stated that if one does not change their character that
does not reflect the WORD, there will be consequences. Apostle Okossi pointed out that what come out of one's mouth is what defiles the body, and not what goes into it. "The most powerful weapon is your tongue. Not your fist. So you must control your tongue," Apostle Okossi preached. "Life and Death is in the power of the tongue," he added. Apostle Okossi stated that what comes out of your mouth, reveals who you truly are. The Apostle referenced the Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:16: "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day." As the Outer Man dies, the Inner Man lives on. Apostle Okossi then stated that when one's Inner and Outer Man are both hungry, we must feed the Inner Man first without hesitation. "This is very important. The Inner Man is the most important part of us when God speaks to us," Apostle Okossi preached. The Apostle referenced Ephesians 3:16- "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man." Apostle Okossi then explained that it is the Word Of God that strengthens the Inner Man. He then pointed out that the Outer Man has to obey the laws of this world. Apostle Okossi also stressed that the Inner Man must stay grounded in the WORD, and avoid the Distractions of this World System of Money. He explained that worldly distractions seek to take us away from the WORD, and from the TRUTH. Therefore, Apostle Okossi stated we must stay grounded in the profound, important Scripture Matthew 6: 33 : "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Therefore, the Worldly Kingdom goes out of you, as you stay in the secret place of the most high. DO NOT REJECT THE INNER MAN, Apostle Okossi concluded, as we must live in a covenant with God. AMEN , Glory Be To God.
